The Santa Barbara has a pretty cool studio available for $595 which is about average these days. My friend Brady used to live here, and unless something drastic has happened, the apartments have really neat coved ceilings and hardwood floors. They have some pics on their website, and they show steam radiators. I would hope that those pics are true because this building has the original wood-paned GIANT windows that are anything but energy efficient. The Santa Barbara (built 1929) is at 2052 SE Hawthorne next to that ramshackle church on the corner. #105 is the apartment coming up, and I THINK that faces west into the parking lot of said church. Not sure about that though. Capital Property Management is the company that has that annoying 503-288-RENT phone number that goes straight to voice-mail 99% of the time. You might be better off calling the main office at 503-287-4346, but they might just forward you to that other phone number.
