Just another resource on renting apartments. It's limited to stuff I manage and stuff I see around town.

3436 SW 1st
Walking around the neighborhood of Curry Court yesterday when I saw this interesting place. Built in 1885, it's a one-bedroom in a triplex with 650 sq ft for only $695. Seems like a pretty good deal to me. No pets or smoking, of course. 971.237.2289
No Mike. No one who lives near this address, at least for very long, would refer to this address as Johns Landing. The neighborhood association is called South Portland. Before several years ago the association was called Lair Hill/ Corbett-Terwilliger (sp?). The Lair Hill name was applied to the oldest and most northern part of the neighborhood, nearer to Lair Hill Park, which dates to the 1930, or earlier. Parts of the Lair Hill neighborhood are registered as a historic neighborhood.
This address might be in Lair Hill or the 'Corbett' part of the neighborbood.
The address is about 20 blocks north the Johns Landing Shopping Center, and a good walk up and down to that valley. The south end of the neighborhood, south of Slavin Road and I-5, and near the shopping center is sometimes called Johns Landing. Developer John Gray introduced that name in the early 1970s. Traditionally, the area was called 'Fulton', and it continues to be so designated on the US geographic survey maps.
That valley, or at least part of it, was/ is called 'Terwilliger' in reference to Terwilliger School which opened in about 1920 (1918?).
I am surprised how often people in real estate and property management disregard neighborhood's history and place names. Is it ignorance, or marketing?
my girlfriend and I are going to be looking for an apartment (large studio or 1bd) come september/october. we'd like something in inner-se, burnside to division, between grand and 50th. we're not hipsters. we have a german shepard. he's and old and timid. could you keep us in mind?
You're right, Mike. I've been neglecting this since the market is so much in the renter's favor now. If I can't get 10 posts in by the end of the month then I'd say unsubscribe.

This is a cute neighborhood too. John's Landing I think they call it.

It's neither ignorance, nor marketing. I think they just have a life.

it's been a long time since any updates on this site.
Should I keep subscribing to it or is it pretty much dead now
